Argentine Tango International - Masterclasses
Learn to tango in a weekend!

Award-winning ‘tangueros’ Sergio Funes Sinopoli and Gemita Diaz Cordova have created a new weekend masterclass open to both beginners and more advanced students. They will teach 20 ‘figuras’ over the weekend and the emphasis will be on practical application, enabling even beginners to hold their own on a dance floor.
Sergio and Gema run regular classes in Malaga, Spain, but will be flying to London on these dates. The weekends are designed to be a fast-track method of learning, for those not able to attend regular classes, or as a supplement to classes. They comprise of 10 hours of tuition, and the more advanced students will receive instruction appropriate to their level. During the course, participants dance with a partner to music from the very beginning as this is one of the most effective ways to learn.
The teachers
Sergio and Gema are currently the European finalists of Tango in the 2009 International Retro Dance Championships, and are competing in the 2010 championships taking place in two weeks.
Sergio is originally from Argentina, is a graduate of physical education and teacher of ballroom dance and retro, and has been teaching both for over 20 years. Gema is a versatile dancer with a background in classical ballet, modern and jazz from Chile, and has been dancing and teaching with Sergio for 4 years.
